In post 1 we saw that, ‘Prophecy imparts the express purpose of God in our current situations.’ Here’s an example from 2 Chronicles 20, where Jehoshaphat and the people came together to seek the Lord. They were doing what they knew to do: assemble and pray in the face of overwhelming circumstances. In a time immense fear, facing extinction and exile as a race, they stood and recounted the history (literally, the scripture) of their past dealings with the Almighty God. They had the biblical strategy of prayer and fasting. However, it was the entrance of the prophetic that caused a massive increase in faith and confidence. Prophecy made them tactically aware of God’s plan for the situation. It was prophecy that pinpointed the exact whereabouts of the enemy, showed them how to fight, and what to expect next. After the entrance of the prophetic, there was a confidence and a determination to do the will of God. You need to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, both by Scripture (His past written Word: logos) and by His Spirit (His current spoken Word: rhema). Scripture gives strategy, while prophecy reveals tactics.
John 16:12-13 – I (Jesus) still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear to hear it. 13However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears
Jesus has more to say to us through the Holy Spirit. Just as Jesus spoke only what He heard from the Father, the Holy Spirit will say only what He hears from Jesus.
Great post. We are in a time of great deception, in the world, and in the church. Jesus told us in Revelation 12:17King James Version (KJV)
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (The Testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophesy, Revelation 19:10 – compare with 1 Corinthians 14:4 “He who speaks in tongues edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”)
We are the remnant of her seed (the end time Church, the Bride) and the dragon is wroth and doing everything in his power to make war with us. We all need to be diligently, in love and obedience, keeping the commandments of God (critically the 4th commandment, which so many have been deceived on so for so long), have our testimony of Jesus Christ (and be sharing it with everyone we can) and having the testimony of Jesus Christ, which is the spirit of prophesy. The Spirit of Truth is actively at work in all Christians who have received Him, and we must be allowing Him to lead us in all truth in these days. https://godsmorning.live/2017/01/06/for-christians-only/

Amen. I only came to know the Sabbath truth about six months ago myself, so I know firsthand how deceived many Christians are. Once I knew it, I was amazed and ashamed that I had gone so long obliviously deceived, and at what an amazing blessing keeping God’s Sabbath is. Sunday was never and could never be enjoyed as the Sabbath, because it isn’t.
